The current focus area for the Junior League of Monterey County is reducing Childhood Obesity. Our signature project, Growing Up Gardens, is designed to help reduce Childhood Obesity across the county by exposing school age children to fresh vegetables. Since the project launched in 2012, we have installed 13 school gardens from Monterey to Soledad and Prunedale, reaching over 7000 students.
